Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Boulder Residents Directory receives, how that limited data is used, and the choices available to a visitor. The service is a reference to Boulder and Colorado public-record routes. It needs no account and is not intended to maintain a personal record about you.

Information Sent Directly

Text entered into a search form, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the contents of that message and use them to answer it.

Routine Technical Data

Hosting systems may record ordinary server information, including an IP address, browser type, viewed pages, and timestamps. We use aggregate patterns to maintain the service and understand which references are useful. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also use cookies or similar tools when enabled.

How the Data Is Used

Technical data supports site operation, troubleshooting, traffic counts, and page improvements. Visitor lists are not sold, and the service does not create individual user profiles.

External Links

Pages link to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. The receiving service's policy governs anything submitted there, not this policy. Sponsored results are supplied by a separate company and follow that provider's practices.

Who Can Receive It

Hosting and support providers may process server logs on behalf of the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the technical information described above. Disclosure may also occur when valid legal process requires it; otherwise, it is not made.

Safeguards and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. Because there are no accounts, this service does not hold a password or user profile for you.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor submitted information so it can be reviewed and deleted.

Your Colorado Privacy Choices

Depending on the visitor and the data involved, rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, and opting out of sale, targeted advertising, or profiling under the Colorado Privacy Act, SB21-190, effective July 1, 2023. The Act excludes public government data and does not make a county record disappear. Because this service keeps very little, a request usually means checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs. Use the Contact page to ask.

Records held by Colorado, Boulder County, or the City of Boulder remain under the original custodian's rules. Requests about those records go to the Assessor, Clerk and Recorder, Elections, Court, Public Health, or other office that maintains the record. The Colorado Open Records Act, C.R.S. sections 24-72-200.1 through 24-72-206, and the separate criminal-justice records provisions do not place those files under this service's control.

Policy Changes

Changes will be posted here with the revised policy. Continued use after an update indicates acceptance of the new wording.
